The City of Victory - Fatehpur Sikri was founded by Akbar - the Great (Emperor of the Mughal dynasty) in 1569 AD. Formerly known as Fatahabad, got its name from a Urdu word "Fatah" meaning victory. Fatehpur Sikri was bulid in honour of great Sufi saint Salim Chisti, who predicted the birth of an heir to the Mughal throne. Fatehpur Sikri is one of the important legacy of the Mughal dynasty. The city was collecion of great architectural craftsmanship and Indo-Islamic masterpiece. Most of the structure was created using red sandstone (also known as Sikri sandstone). The sunset has its own magic on the red sandstone walls of the city.
