Haridwar

On the banks of the river Ganges- Haridwar is among one of the seven holiest places in India. Haridwar is "Gateway to Lord Shiva" as Hara means "Lord Shiva" and Dwara means "gate or gateway" in Sanskrit. It is the place where river Ganga touches the plains. Millions of Hindu pilgrims take holy dip at haridwar every year. Haridwar was also famous for its Kumbha Mela, which held once in every twelve years. The evening Ganga Aarti is one of the spectacular moment in Haridwar as lighted diyas floats on the river Ganga, which make feel speechless.
