On the evening of EID, i and my 5 friends made up a sudden mind for a hill station trip. And guess what? We left the very next evening.

From kashmere gate ISBT we bought the tickets to dharamshala on the go @ ₹950 / person.

The bus took exact 12 hours from ISBT to Dharamshala. It was tiring but the breathtaking views of the majestic hills just hypnotized us.

From Dharamshala we took another bus to Mcleodganj, which was just 10km or 30 minutes away. As there was not so much to look around in Dharamshala except a monastery. (which we didn't visit to )

Where as MCLEODGANJ was full of classy bars, restaurants, markets and tourists.

The hotel we stayed at was TASTE OF TIBET hotel and restaurant. Which offered us a stay for 6 members @ 1500₹ per check out only.

There were expensive hotels as well, with a price of 7500₹ per night. Depending on your pocket.

As it was raining, the temperature was low, hence no a/c rooms were required.

The room's balcony was connected with 2 other rooms with an amazing view of the hills and true nature.

After taking a nap and a shower, we all decided to roam around the market and get something to eat.

                                                                                 THE MCLLO'S

At main chowk of Mcleodganj there's a restaurant named MCLLO's where food was immensely good and the vibe of the bar will take out of the world.

Six of us had full tummy dinner for just 2000₹ in there. The food was really of high quality and the taste was amazing.

The next morning we had breakfast at the Nick's kitchen, basically its a restaurant with semi covered terrace seating arrangement.

There we had American and European breakfast with many eye catching menu items.

                                                                                     THE NICK'S KITCHEN

We paid 1600₹ for that amazing breakfast and headed towards Bhagsu.

                                                                                               BHAGSU

Bhagsu is small hill station at a walking distance from Mcleodganj. It is famous for its Naag baba temple, Shiva cafe, and a free of cost public swimming pool.

We decided to go to the Shiva cafe, which was around a KM above from the level we were already at.

                                                             SHIVA CAFE

It was a knee punishing experience to climb the  distance leading to the Shiva cafe.

But trust me it was worth full.

The cafe had its own charm and vibe. There were stone paintings, pool, open terrace seating, romantic views, music and good fast food.

After that we decided to do camping and trekking.

Camping for 6 members would have charged us 7500₹, which includes

Tent

Sleeping bag

Mattress

2 meals

A private space away from crowd and near a river.

But unfortunately, it was raining that day. So we canceled the plan and booked a cab for AMRITSAR @5800₹ Toyota Innova 7 seater.

                                                                                 AMRITSAR

It was a 4hr drive from Macleodganj to Amritsar. In middle of the way, the cabs were needed to be changed  in order to the states changing from himachal to punjab. While the new driver arrived, we had dinner for about 2000₹ at a classy hotel.

                                                                     THE CLASSY HOTEL

Finally we reached amritsar and had a nap. It was already 2 am. We woke up at 7 am and quenched ourselves in the holy waters of amritsar gurudwara. Food, stay, baggage store all was free there.

                                                              WAGAH BORDER

Then we decided to go to wagah border parade, that happens every day.

You need to be there latest by 2.30pm and the parade ends at 7.30pm. It was a strange experience to see the same but separated nation sitting just opposite us. But the crowd and energy is a must watch thing.

Finally while returning from parade we had dinner at Brothers Dhabha, one of the best hotels in amritsar. 6 of us ordered 3 veg thaalis, lassi, paneer tikka. And we were left with no space in our tummy, with a bill amount of just 1200₹.

We booked our bus tickets to delhi a/c volvo luxury @ 800₹ per head and ended this full of surprises journey from where we started i.e. KASHMERE GATE ISBT.

so guys till next time, keep traveling and keep sharing. PEACE.
