Agumbe is a small hill village located in Shimoga district, Thirthahalli taluk in the Malnad region of Karnataka, India. Agumbe is also known as Cherrapunji of South India because this place receive the second-highest annual rainfall in the country. It is a diverse ecosystem of mammals, birds, and reptiles, including the elusive king cobra. Agumbe is one of the most scenic places on the Western Ghats in Karnataka. It is lying in the Thirthahalli taluk and the Malnad region and surrounded by dense lush green forests, small streams and ghats.
